I was browsing through the Gourmet website and I came along a recipe for Khashk-e-bademjan and I could hardly believe it! I absolutely love that Persian culture is becoming so integrated into mainstream American media. The thought of a Sally-Sue cooking kashk-e-bademjoon in her kitchen makes me so happy! It amazes me how much we have progressed as a people.
I also found this piece written by Firoozeh Dumas to be touching and very true. She describes in detail the hectic and intricate preparation before a mehmooni. Made me smile.
