has everyone started their sabzeh for the Norooz?

I have decided that I prefer growing wheat rather than lentils for my sofreh sabzeh. The final product seems so much more green and lush. That is, of course, if it grows at all. Sadly, in the past, I have had several sofreh haftseens that have been adorned with a plate of wet sprouting lentils rather than anything green and lush. Luckily, I have a better idea of how to grow the Norooz sabzeh now. Thank goodness. And every year, right before sizdeh bedar, I get a little sad when I realize I have to bid farewell to my little green friend.

It's recommended that you set your sabzeh about 2 weeks prior to Norooz. So, consider yourself warned. No one likes a bald sabzeh on the sofreh haftseen. More importantly, I hope you are able to take in all the joy in these moments. This is such a wonderful time of the year.
